Lines of research

This line includes studies of sustainability, its conception and implementation, its influence on territorial dynamics, considering economic, environmental, social, cultural, political and institutional results in organizational and territorial contexts. Entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial orientation, innovation, innovation habitats, cooperation between organizations, sustainable operations and chains, the spatialization of economic activities and regional asymmetries are central to this understanding. This line includes studies on the competitiveness of organizations and business groupings with an emphasis on the formulation, process and practice of strategy. It investigates other aspects that influence competitiveness, such as the resources, capabilities and competencies of organizations, management practices such as people management, and is also interested in stakeholders, strategic behaviour, and the role of the manager in strategic management and governance.

Analysis and interpretation of data in qualitative research. Constant comparative method. Content analysis. Discourse analysis. Computer tools for processing qualitative data.

People, work and sustainability

Meanings of work. Work and diversity. Professional trajectories and careers. Leadership and working relationships. Learning for sustainability.

Teaching internship

It gives students the opportunity to experience planning, executing and evaluating academic activities for students at undergraduate or postgraduate level.

Guided scientific research I

Types of scientific papers. Structure, organization and writing of a scientific article. Contributions of a scientific article: originality, rigor and relevance. Quality/impact indicators for journals and scientific articles. Qualis strata. Impact factor. International journals. Databases. Complementary activity on qualitative and quantitative methods.

Guided scientific research II

Evaluation criteria: relevance of the contribution, writing and presentation, theoretical-conceptual structure, method, discussion of results, references. Good publication practices of the National Association of Graduate Studies in Administration (ANPAD). Complementary activity on qualitative and quantitative methods.

Guided scientific research III

Ethics in publishing: authorship and co-authorship. Ethics in research. Ethics in publishing: authorship and co-authorship. Ethics in management research. Researchers and participants. The use of the Informed Consent Form (ICF) in research. Complementary activity on qualitative and quantitative methods.

Strategy and international business

Globalization and international strategy. Traditional theoretical approaches in International Business. Institutional theory and the international strategies of multinationals from emerging countries. The institutional environment of Latin America.

Academic production in journals

Validation of academic production published by the PhD student in journals in the higher Qualis strata (A1, A2, B1, B2), during the PhD period, in accordance with the Regulations.
